Bike, walk, take the bus, or drive if you must…just get here any way you can for the blueberries from North Oaks Farms. And maybe plums! Our friends from Seeders and Feeders will be back at the market this season just as soon as theirs are ripe. As always, you can count on plenty of fresh, seasonal veggies from Our Harvest. Ask about their weekly CSA Harvest Box program–not too late to sign up. Looking for locally produced meat, eggs, yogurt? Back Acres Farm has them, plus much more.
Kid’s Corner this week will feature the College Hill Early Literacy Team. Bring the kids or grandkids at 3:30 for a story, hands-on activity and a snack.
Did you know that you can take a bike with you on the bus? That you can figure out how to get somewhere on Queen City Metro with just one click? That seniors ride for half price? That you can get a stored value card for up to $30 so you don’t have to have the right change to board the bus?
Queen City Metro will have a bus at this week’s market. They’ll show you how to rack your bike. They’ll have paper schedules for the two routes through College Hill and answer any and all questions. You can learn to ride the bus downtown just in time for the All-Satr game week-end!
Music this week from 5:00-6:30 is Cookin’ Hearts. Come for the market and the music and stay for dinner! Food truck Empanada Aqui returns with empanadas, arapas and cold drinks, and Aunt Flora will be serving up pulled pork sandwiches.
